Experience
I started my career in the world of chemicals in the Applications Laboratory of a major manufacturer of resins, plasticisers, basic chemicals and pharmaceuticals in the 1960’s with part-time study for ONC and HNC in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
Notable businesses I have worked for directly include Cornelius Chemicals and until end 2017, Blagden Chemicals in the UK.
Supply Principals have included Dupont, Byk Chemie, Roehm GmbH, Rohm and Haas UK, ICL, Chemtura, Kaneka, Kemira Oy, etc… on products such as Titanium Dioxide, Acrylic Resins, Brominated Fire Retardants, Paint and Plastics Additives etc…
Foundation in Polymerisation
Two significant projects at the start of my career include the polymerisation of THF to form PTMEG, a polyurethane precursor, and a bead polymerisation process for the production of Ketone resins which was patented.

From this foundation, I moved into chemical and plastics distribution, gaining experience across a broad spectrum of industries including coatings, inks, plastics, personal care, lubricating oil and adhesives, combining technical and commercial functions.
